Female condom is one of the contraceptive method. The girl condom is different from male condoms in usage a little. It helps women to prevent from unwanted pregnancy and many types of STDs such as hepatitis B and C, human papillomavirus, HIV, HSV etc. Female condom is design in such a way that women insert it into the vagina up to the cervix to prevent from unwanted pregnancy and STDs during vagina sex. Men or women can also use the female condom during anal sex to prevent from STDs. Sometimes female condom are also called the internal condom.
Female condom are generally made with polyurethane and synthetic nitrile. Female condom is very thin, soft and has a flexible ring at both the end. Women should close the inner ring and insert it into the vagina. The outer ring is hang out. Sometimes male can also use the female condom during the anal sex. Male can wear the female condom in the same manner as the women wear it for vagina sex. Male can squeeze the inner ring and insert the female condom into the anal and the outer ring of the female condom is hand out. Female condom are available in the market in various shape, size and color. Women can also use different types of personal lubricant with condom.
During sexual activity, if women use the female condom in a proper manner then it is more effective. Female condom are great , to prevent from unwanted pregnancy and STDs. Before using the female condom, it is important for women to read the instruction and if women follow that instruction carefully then there is very little chance that she get pregnant or STIs.
If women wants to make their condom more effective then there is only one way that use it in a correct manner. The women should wear the condom during the sexual intercourse from starting to ending. Women should make sure that condom are places in a correct position inside the vagina or anal. Along with the female condom, women should also take some other contractive method such as pills or IDU. It provides more protection from unwanted pregnancy.
Female condom are not reusable, so every time when women have a sex with their partner, they should use a new condom. While purchasing the condom, women should check its expiration date. If it get expired then never use it. Before using the condom women should cut their nails because condom is very thin and if it get scratch with nails then there is possibility that it breaks during the sexual intercourse. To open the packet of female condom, women should avoid using the teeth, scissors or other pointed device.
Before wearing the female condom, women should read the instruction and follow that instruction. After the sexual intercourse, do not flush the condom to the toilet. Do not keep the female condom with insect repellent or any other volatile substance. Always store the female condom in the cool and dry place, and avoid the direct sunlight.
During sexual activity, if women use the female condom perfectly every time then its contraceptive rate is 95%. But there are only few women who use the female condom in a perfect way. Every time when women use the female condom it is not necessary that they use it in a perfect manner. So the contraceptive rate of the female condom is approx 79%. It means that out of 100 women 79 women does not get pregnant (21 women get pregnant)while using the female condom during sexual intercourse.
During sexual activity, couple should make sure that at a time only one partner can use the condom either male partner use the male condom or female partner use the female condom. If both the partner use the condom at the same time then both the condom get stuck together and it get slip to its original position, which makes it ineffective. So at a time, only one partner can use the condom during sexual intercourse to make it effective.
The first female condom was manufactured in the late 20th century. The main purpose of developing the female condom is that many men does not use the male condom during the sexual intercourse because of loss of sensation which cause the unwanted pregnancy and STDs. In 1980 first female condom was manufactured. The female condom which is manufactured in 1980 are not so effective. After that in 1991 another manufactured company brings the female condom. But the female condom get popular in 1995. Now a day, most of the women use the female condom to prevent from unwanted pregnancy and STDs.
